Mike Pieciak’s Statement on President Biden’s Withdrawal and Endorsement of Vice President Harris

Winooski, VT - Treasurer Mike Pieciak issued the following updated statement regarding President Biden’s decision to withdraw from the 2024 presidential election and his support for Vice President Harris:

“Throughout his career, Joe Biden has demonstrated immense leadership and political courage. Yesterday, the president made his most courageous decision yet by ending his re-election campaign. By putting country before self, he has shown his true humility and patriotism, demonstrating the very essence of public service. 

“Our country has been well served under the Biden administration. President Biden took office shortly after the January 6 insurrection and amid the COVID-19 pandemic. In this critical moment, when our nation and the world desperately needed trusted and experienced leadership, President Biden built back the American economy and restored our nation’s credibility around the globe. His steady hand and dedication have been invaluable during these challenging times. 

“I thank President Biden for his years of service, and I know he will continue to serve our country well through the end of his term.

“Throughout the Biden-Harris administration, Vice President Kamala Harris has been an invaluable partner to the President. Her leadership has helped create millions of good-paying jobs, lowered healthcare costs for seniors, and delivered the most robust climate agenda in U.S. history. I trust Kamala Harris to finish the job.

“Now we must get to work electing Kamala Harris and defeating Donald Trump.”
